This is the Final Report for a rescue excavation commissioned by the National Monuments Service in 2023 on an area of ground at the Upper Lighthouse on Sceilg Mhichíl that is the subject of erosion from increased storminess and precipitation.

A Guide to World Heritage Nomination - World Heritage Advice Series No. 1

‘A Guide to World Heritage Nomination’ has been developed by the National Monuments Service with international best practice in mind. This guide aims to assist local authorities that are working to progress the nomination of sites on Ireland’s UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
The publication is the first in a new World Heritage Advice Series to assist members of the public and key stakeholders in understanding the various World Heritage processes and requirements within an Irish context.
